Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana; 13:10-14:10 (GMT)

The Ghanaian Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) is a gateway event shaping Africa’s digital future – bringing together policymakers, innovators, private sector leaders and development partners to accelerate digital transformation, innovation and inclusive digital ecosystems.

This year, the Ghanaian-German Digital Dialogue will host a high-level panel discussion on the topic of digital identity. The discussion will explore how secure and user-centric digital ID systems can enable greater inclusion, efficiency and trust for citizens, businesses and institutions.

The panel will compare Ghana's advances in building a foundational ID system with Germany's transition towards user-empowered digital identity through the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet. Discussions will focus on expanding access to services, driving public sector innovation, and ensuring privacy, interoperability and adoption at scale.

Experts from government, digital policy, data protection and technological innovation will share practical lessons on implementing secure digital identity infrastructures and examine collaborative pathways towards inclusive and future-ready digital ecosystems.
